Exhaust manifold on a 1995 camaro

I recently had a problem with my y pipes bolts
breaking off of the manifold due to rust and I
dropped my exhaust completely it runs from the
manifold out and for some reason it runs better
then it ever has before so I took it out it pulled
harder and didn't backfire like it used to can
someone explain message me plz I want to
figure it out
