Volt light indicates a fault with the electrical system. Under voltage over voltage etc. Have the battery checked. Look closely at all battery and alternator connections. Any sign of corrosion needs to be cleaned up. Check to see if the belt that turns the alternator is tight. Do a voltage test engine running at the battery. Voltage should somewhere between 13.8 and 14.6 volts. If voltage is higher or lower I would suspect a possible bad alternator.
