Need to be able to ford a creek but also want room enough to haul my plants and have room for the grandchildren and a truck is not appealing. Want a reliable vehicle with low mileage. Any suggestions?

Not sure what you are asking in the first sentence. A minivan is an outstanding vehicle for hauling kids, plants, 4' by 8' sheets of drywall or plywood or whatever you want to haul. They get mid 20's for gas mileage, are easy to maintain and aren't to expensive to buy.
