Does it have a tachometer. If so u can tell by watching how the rpm's change when you push the button that controls going into overdrive or not. While driving in overdrive, about 55 or 60 mph, push the button and see if there is a change in rpm's. If the tranny shifts from overdrive to drive the rpm's will go up and the light should be on. When pushing the button again, it should shift into overdrive and out of drive which will lower the rpm's. The light should go off when in overdrive.
