My 2002 vw beatle won't start and
displays EPC warning light on
dashboard , what is it please?"

EPC IS Electronic Power (or Pedal) Control. Throttle. IF you have the key on, without engine running, that light should be on anyway, alomg with all other warning icons to show they are functional, my point being that may not be the cause of the no-start.
