Do you want to mate it with the original 289? Doubtful- but there may be an adapter you can buy somewhere- and the clutch will be a problem- it will work for sure with the tranny's original engine- this is a Frankenstein job, and I think you should think about a different tack- even with a 5 speed and a fuel injected engine, it would still drive like a boat from the '60s-
