Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I ha a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 club cab 2wd 5.9L V-8 360 engine. automatic
transmission.  I wrecked it and bought a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 V-8 360 with a
short bed ext. cab to put my transmission in while keeping the motor as a backup
because the 97 body came with a good motor. We pulled the bad transmission and
started prepping the 2000 one for install and we realized that the tail shafts weren't the
same. The tail shaft on the 97 tran. has a sensor on it that the 2000 tran. doesn't have.
the only difference i could find between the trans. and motors on the two trucks is that
in 98 dodge introduced the OBDll computer system to the Ram. How do I figure out if
the two trans. are swappable and how do I find out what the sensor on the tailshaft
housing is???
