Why does my 01 jeep grand cherokee laredo keep shutting off?

I have an automatic 01 jeep grand cherokee
laredo...recently ill be driving and my RPMs
will suddenly drop to zero and my oil
gague fluctuates to 0 and my car shuts off.  
it turns on again and lets me drive but it's
only a matter of time before the rpms move
to 0 and my car shuts off..this is happening
continuously..i decided to try to drive it
home but instead I got stuck and now the
radio windows and.nothing will work.  is.the
battery what needs to be checked? I
recently had an oil change and put the
recommended 10w30 motor oil inside so
idont beleive it couldbe due to oil
pressure.... any opinions/experiences/
knowledge of this problem or what it can
be...
