Do you know what you are getting in to? Is it retractable or just a window? If you are talking open/close type there are many things to consider..all the electrical components, etc. But if you mean just a glass or plexi-glass window in the roof, cut small and enlarge as necessary, you can't put back a too-big hole but you can always enlarge a too small.hole. Cut smaller than the outside-to-outside measurement so the flange will rest on roof and for gods sake be careful with headliner, do not use a torch.....a grinder used on edge or a metal cutting circular saw, a sawzall will do it maybe. And front -to back you can put it wherever you want as long as you do NOT cut any structural gussets or cross- members in the roof .

if you have a Donor car{with Sunroof} cut off the entire Roof at all the Corners {A B & C pillars} > Modern sunroof structure has a lot of internal channels, which the Standard roof would not have{the mechanisms/tracks on which the Sunroof operate, channels for water runoff, etc}> then get a Body shop to weld the donor roof structure onto your car
