how to get to use boost?

Click on the red button that appears below your current score. If you have no boosts remaining, it turns grey.

it also turns grey if your score is presently at the Highest score you've reached... Becuase you can't boost any higher. a whole instruction panel shows up when you've clicked boost that should help.
