1999 Buick lesabre limited
Last Monday my car died on me while
cruising through town so I pulled the
alternator and battery got them tested at
autozone and the battery was bad but
alternator was fine popped the new battery in
and drove it 5 miles and again it dies so I
come to a stop try and crank it and nothing
so my thought was fuel pump! Well 400
dollars later I’ve replaced fuel pump, fuel
filter, fuel pump assembley, fuel pump fuse &
relay, and still it just cranks and cranks so I
spray starter fluid in throttle body it turns on
a dies right away any ideas ?

Without a cam sensor signal everytime you attempt to crank it you have a 1 in 6 chance of it starting

Actually you used starting fluid, This could be a crank sensor problem since the car actually died on you and starting fluid will cause ignition even without spark bc of its high volatility. The 3800 engines will generally keep running when a cam signal is lost. Do this pull two spark plug wires off of one coil pack and crank the engine over and see if spark jumps between the two towers

Thats why i hate using starting fluid as a diagnostic tool bc you can have a no spark situation and it ends up looking like a fuel problem
