I've a 2012 clio 1.5 dci. I'm thinking of changing the tyre size from 195/50 R16 to 195/55 R16 would that be possible without any problems?

Your tires will be slightly taller but not much. If you have lots of clearance then no problem. A good tire shop will try a tire on and check for clearance.
