Fuse Replacement on 1981 E250
I am trying to change out some fuses on my Ford E-250 and the manual only specifies the amp and not what model/kind to use. I am having a hard time finding this information. Any ideas?
all you need to do is go to a parts store and buy a pack of fuses, all that matters is the amp,not name brand.
Thanks for answering! Thats exactly what I did and ended up with a 15 amp fuse that was twice as long and wouldn't fit (AGC?). I ended up finding the right ones after 3 stores!...they just don't stock the old tube fuses as much anymore. So now my 12 Volt on the dash works great with the new fuse. But...I noticed something when changing the fuses. Fuse slot #3 is listed in the Manual as "Emission control & Throttle solenoid" with a 7.5 amp required. In my fuse box there was a 15 amp fuse with a wire (with terminal) wedged in with it. This wire leads to a bunch of wires grouped together passing under the dash. Any idea why there would be a discrepancy like that? 15 amp instead of 7.5? Thanks for taking the time to help! Andrew
nothing wrong with a 15 in a 7.5,most likely the wire was to a aftermarket raido or something else, nothing to worrie about.
