1999 mersedes sl500 roll bar problem

I also have a 1993 SL300, which has been in a shed for 5yrs. Everything worked perfectly before I put it away. But after taking it out from storage a couple of weeks ago, and charged the battery up again, I can’t get the rollbar down again. The switch lights up whenever I go to start it, but pressing the switch up or down the little red lights don’t illuminate. There must be a valve or pin which can be released? Any ideas?
