Engine shuts off , new fuel pump, a lot of new parts, ign switch, computer etc. Any ideas??

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This thing was running rough and started to stall once in a while.  Found low fuel pressure so we changed the the pump.  pressure is good but it still cut out.  Sometimes after it is warm it will shut off 3 times a minute.  Will restart after turning off the key and turning it back on, but stalls again.  All dash lights come on and the fuel pump is still running but the fuel shuts off at the throttle body, and the engine dies.   Any clues??

I see you changed the fuel pump but did not mention the fuel filter did you change that also ? Check air filter and clean throttle body, clean or replace Idle Air Control valve or mass air flow sensor depending on which one your vehicle has add Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner to gas tank.

Agree with firebird, all so check the fuel pressure regulator.

I have changed the fuel filter and run injector cleaner through it, cleaned the iac valve changed the ecm, distributor, plugs, wires, ignition switch, and egr valve. still runs like crap and cuts out, i have no idea what to do any ideas would be helpful.

oh and the speedo reads 5mph at idle and if the engine is revved it will jump up to 20 or 25 mph.

You may want to check in the owners manual for this to see if your vehicle has a ETCS ( Electronic Throttle Control System ) fuse.
