Where does the name "W427" come from in relation to the new HSV W427?

the 'w' stands for walkinshaw performance tuning and the 427 is how many cubic inches it is

Yeah me too - Im from the UK originally, so we had very few super saloons! Appart from the Lotus Carlton, nothing in a Normal price range existed, which is why I just love the HSVs over in NZ! Even the family-type SS Commodores are damn good value!
