Fuel pump

Asked by GuruR7D1 May 09, 2017 at 12:12 AM about the Chevrolet Silverado Classic 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got a Chevy that runs great once it's started
but it starts when it pleases & fights me on
acceleration.
Sometimes it stalls when idling.
Wondering if it's a fuel pump issue or a relay
or a fuse?
Don't know.
Hopefully It's something I can fix myself.
Any info would be appreciated.

Get an Automotive Technician to hook up a good fuel pressure gauge and drive it with gauge hooked up. Sometimes the seals in the pump can leak pressure only under heavy load such us up hills on a hot day with the engine warmed and a/c on.
