Can I take the moter and tranny out of 2006 and put it my 02 Chevy pick up

first of all there were several different motor packages used in those years, next i need to know is it 4x4 and witch trans on both. also vin # for both. if i had to guess i would say this will not work unless you were to also change wire harness engine comp possible body comp,ect...you could probly use the engine block and heads and swap everything else
