2009 chevy z71 wont go over 40mph stability light comes on and check engine and traction control light any ideas?

Did you get it fixed. Would it get any better with traction and stabilitrac off? (hold the button for 30 sec). I would look at the abs sensors. They feed data to the trac system. If your warranty is up I wounder if a tuner can disable the system. Personally it's anoying. And even if you by-pass (hold the button) the auto brake correction portion of stabilitrac is still funtional in 2wd and 4wd (high). I think low by-passes everything.
