Did you get some quotes? Putting a used one in or a remanufactured? Ballpark is $2-4K.

Putting in a used Engine

So if the labor is around 1800 to replace the seals and gaskets on a used engine and install in vehicle would be fair?

Sounds high to me, so that doesn't include the price of the engine? 1K would be fair. But since it's a van might be harder to swap but not that high. Call another shop or two for some estimates. $1800 if that price INCLUDES the engine.
