Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Anyone replaced the fuse box themselves? I am trying to
lower the cost of fixing my headlights. My low beams wont
come on. Thanks

Why do you think the fuse box needs to be replaced? Is it melted or physically damaged? I have been working on cars a long time and have never needed to replace a fuse box. If the low beams do not come on, I would check the hi / low beam switch.

Well from I have replaced both headlight bulbs, checked all the fuses, and done some research online. All the other questions state that the dealership replaced the fuse box to fix the problem. Apparently there is a circuit board in the box that goes out.

The running lights come on. No there is no physical damage to the fuse box.

OK. Changing the box should not be terribly difficult (although I have never replaced one). Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting. Then it should just be the retainer clips to release the plugs and a bolt or two.

Dont ignore the relay box in the front wheel well behind the bumper on the drivers side, others have done what you did only to have the fault return, check on youtube for location and explanation of why its the problem and not the fuse box, good luck mate.

Amanda I know what you are saying these cars have a fuse box call a TIPM where the fuses are and checking the fuse and changing the bulbs isn't the problem sometimes it'd inside the fuse box call the TIPM where there could be a Issue.I only had a problem with one side of my headlights so i didn't want to spend the money if it was only one light so I wired a switch for the one side only and Kaboom I'm good.
