i have a 1985 dodge van we replaced the altanator and checked the starter but it still wont startall it does is click
This might seem ridiculous, but grab your battery cables and give 'em a good shake. I've had it work for me on a few occasions (supposing its not anything serious).
tony if you have enough power in the battery and you hear that click pretty clear like by the starter or at the starter, no question about it your starter gave you a fault test and is geting stuck so must likely you will need to replace it.
Assuming you have a fully charged battery,A simple test for battery connection integrity is to turn on the headlights and attempt to crank the engine over. If the lights stay bright, you have a starter or solenoid problem. if the lights dim, you may have a loose or dirty battery post connection.
