Fires but will not start

1997 ram 1500 5.9l Magium fires and can smell fuel so
what can I check next ?

Fouled spark plugs or may have jumped time. Bad timing chain or gears.

Do you mean that it starts then dies? Can smell fuel from where? More information please.
