97 dodge ram 1500 2wheel drive not going in drive

Ok so here it is I rebuilt my tranny on my truck because I thought my drive clutch packs
were bad but now I only have reverse. My truck kicks like it wants to go into drive but it
won't it kicks in then drops out of drive before it even moves. HELP

Did you do a computer scan before you started the repairs? It could be that your whole problem is caused by the shift solenoids. Check the computer for tranny codes.

I haven't checked computer codes but I will do that for sure.
