If I let the fuel level get below 3/4 of a tank, the engine starts losing power.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If I don't keep the tank full, the engine loses power and the truck shakes.  I usually only put in about 10 gallons of gas and it clears the issue.  It may run rough all of the time but it is certainly worse if the tank gets down more than 10 gallons.

Obviously it's a fuel issue. Have your fuel pump checked for the proper pressure and when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? I'd start there.

Mine did something like this also. I fist had my plugs and wires changed , my oil and oil filter and my fuel pump changed. After the pump was replaced it fixed that problem on my 98 dodge
