haveing some four wheel drive probloms

i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5,9 when  i put it in 4 low it grinds really
bad and it also does the same thing in neutral and i cn not get the 4x4 stick go
in 4 high also when i drive down the road it will jump out of 2 wheel drive in to
neutral and start grinding and sometimes i have to stop and cut my truck off to
put it back in 2 wheel drive

Sounds like the Transfer case might be bad.

Agreed, if you overhaul it now you could save yourself the cost of a new case. Or find a good used one that has a part only warranty.
