What is causing truck to stall/kick

Asked by mynamejuan206 Apr 25, 2016 at 06:58 PM about the 1993 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got another issue Doug, lets see if we can get to the bottom of this one.
Okay, 1993 Ford F150 5.8L EFI the truck sometimes cutsoff after turning
over, it pulls hard on 1-2 gear/shift, then when i give it more
power/accelerate it stalls or stalls but stays on.

I have checked the ignition module/coil, swapped the distributor since cap
was bad and I assumed the pickup coil was bad, spark plugs are new and
wires are good.
No check engine light.

had the same problem and re did timing and plugs and wires and the solinoid and it will cut out only when it gets hot but thats cause i use a push start on mine but ever since i replaced the solonoid it stopped stalling out on me. i have a 91 f150 5.8 but the timing was off and the solnoid was bad fixed both of those and now it just that stupid shit were it gets to hot after driving for long periods of time.

Figured it out, i unplugged the tps and ran it. ran like a champ power and speed is all there. plugged it back in and the issues came back, tps is bad. i still have the hard shifting and pulling and shifting and changing from reverse and all but i thinks thats another issue. as long as i get the stalling done i'm fine i can figure the rest out.
