Stall ,Studders,and Stops 1989 f-150 fuel injected
Help... my truck just started to stall and studder and stop...have checked and replaced many things like ignion control module ,fuel filter ,check the fuel pumps all three..have checked the fuel pressure is fine 47 psi..any ideas or help would be just Great...
Check your fuel pressure regulator and/or injectors. I'm surprised on a fuel injected vehicle that you aren't seeing a Warning Light of some kind. I would think that something such as this would be throwing some sort of trouble code.
You might need to get one of the EEC-IV/OBD-I engine code readers since your vehicle is pre-96 and thus the OBD-II readers won't work for this. It could be a lot of things, it's hard to tell without seeing it and without more information what the problem could be.
I had the same problem except mine was a 2004 it would run for a while then slowly die out what i did was i brought it to jiffy lube and they ran some cleaner through it ...then i also bought a can of sea foam dumped it in there ran it a bit then let it sit for a few days and its been running just fine ever since then
I'm having the same issue, 1988 8cyl. Warms up, studders, dies. This thing is so funky looking it could be anything I guess. What kind of cleaner did they use at Jiffy? Fuel Injector cleaner?
try running a can of sea fome injector cleaner in a tank of gas,sounds like the injectors are cloged,if you running gas with ethonol in it ,it will jell ,been a lot of problems with this gas.
theres a programing problem on some of the the early ford EFI systems the same thing happened to me with a 1988 f250, 1994 explorer, and 91 mustang, it could be a problem with one of the sensors or programing in the cpu
I have a 1989 f150( fuel injected 302). We recently took the engine to get rebuilt. Truck is dying when it comes to a stop. starts fine and runs fine but when it comes to a stop it dies. we installed a new bbk throttle body, new idle air control, new tps sensor, new cold air intake, new vacuum lines, new map sensor , new fuel pressure regulator and new pumps in the tanks. The mechanic who installed the motor cancelled the egr. When we disconnect the tps sensor , it doesn't die at all. What could be the cause of this?
