According to my handy dandy 1978 Ford owners manual, 4.9L 300,5.0L 302,5.8L 351,6.6L 400 or 7.5L 460.

Holy thread revival Batman! But....Kennethoaks0927, I'm wondering if you got that 78 Ford about a year ago and what engine it ended up having. My truck is a 78 Custom F150 4x4 with an auto trans and it has the 400.
