1983 can it be 4X4?

can a 1983 Chevy suburban 4x4 half ton 5.7 liter be a four by four or is it not possable?

If the suborbon is a z71 type trim, then it is probably a 4 wheel drive. however i dont know if the z options were availible in 1983. look in the manual
