my bench seat in my 1978 3/4 ton suburban sits too close to the steering wheel. anyone know how I ca move it back from the factory location? I have about 2.5 inches behind it that I could use. tha

Remove the seat, look under the truck where the bolts come through to make sure they aren't close to any lines that will get damaged. 2 inches behind each hole drill another hole, install the seat in the new position.

Helpful, but the seat isn't on a flat surface and the rear is on about a 45 deg. downward angle which will require fabrication of some kind of spacer. I am leaning towards some blocks of a really dense hardwood which I can mill and shape in my shop. Thanks very much for your reply. Respectfully, Steve L. (woodctr51)
