What does it mean when the truck ignition just ticks and does not turnover?

Solid click is usually starter. Fast clicking is usually battery.

Agreed with GA. Did you measure the battery voltage after you "charged" it? It should be about 14 volts. Bare minimum is about 12.5V in moderate temp and minimal cranking resistance.

Load test the battery to make sure you have the voltage and cold cranking amps (CCA). If the battery fails the load test replace it. Also, check your battery cable connections at both ends. A bad connection can give the rapid clicking that you're having as well. Hope that helps! Jim
