Ticking or slight hum/revving sound when the heating is on.

The a/c has stopped working. I checked the drive belts which are running
smoothly. Now I've noticed a tick tick sound behind the dash and a slight
humming/revving sound when the heating is on.

I searched on this and seen it could be a possible few things that I am
uncertain of. Anyone else had this prob with their Bora ?
