1980 cj7

Asked by GuruT6T9S Jul 17, 2018 at 11:18 PM about the 1980 Jeep CJ-7

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Locked front wheel on drivers side.

1 Answer

I had the same problem with my 1980 CJ7 and it turned out to be the caliper fit too snug on the bracket and would not slide in and out like it should. The slide in caliper clip had to be forced in and out using a hammer. I ended up using a dremel to grind the caliper ends down a bit so it would slide somewhat freely as you apply and let off the brakes.
