Fuel filter lines

Your Catalina originally had a glass bowl type of fuel filter assembly located between the fuel pump and the carburetor. If your car has air conditioning there is a 3rd fuel line that is a return line to the gas tank. There was a fuel line going from the fuel pump to the glass bowl, then another from the glass bowl to the carburetor. These were all metal lines. The third, return line, if equipped, was screwed into the top of the glass bowl assembly. HTH. -Jim

You're welcome. Glad to help. Your best bet is a factory shop manual. Faxon Auto Literature in Riverside, California probably has a reprint of the original. They have a website and are very reasonable on pricing. I've bought from them several times. Shop manuals from the '60s were very informative and have excellent diagrams for fuel and brake lines, wiring, etc. Definitely the way to go, especially if you're keeping the car original. BTW, my Father had a '65 Catalina with the V8 389. He bought it in 1969. It was a white 2 door. Great car!! Good luck with yours!! HTH. - Jim
