The 2004 Honda Odyssey is the same minivan design as it has been for years. The newest thing in store for consumers is that Toyota and Nissan (for the first time) have provided real competition with mid-size SUVs. You may wish to consider that fact when negotiating price.
The V-6, 3.5-liter engine has more powerful with 240-hp. All 2004 Odyssey models have electronic traction control via ABS with their (EBD) Electronic Braking Distribution system. The option of a navigation system OR an entertainment system comes only with leather seat models. Drivers really enjoy the looks of the Odyssey minivan with the sleek, attractive design. The fact that the 4-wheel independent suspension makes driving smoother, also appeals to many user reviewers. It has excellent fuel efficiency, low emissions, and with the back seat folded down, 146-cubic feet of cargo space.
Owner reviews are pretty high for the 2004 Honda Odyssey. Now with standard side airbags, this vehicle has been awarded 5-stars in all crash test results. However, the Odyssey review indicates no curtain side airbags - that are available with the competition. This minivan comfortably seats seven people, and is probably going to add new features in order to keep its reputation as the best mid-size SUV on the road.

No other car can you get as much stuff and people into. Very versatile with the fold down and removable seats. We have put over 200,000 miles with low maintenance cost. Easy access and comfort for all in the van. Jan 25, 2015

I love the space and the ability to transport cargo when necessary. I REALLY love having the DVD player! It keeps the kids occupied during long trips! And we can listen to our radio stations of CD's in the front. Love this car!May 10, 2013

Great for hauling large items. Removable rear seats create a lot of room for boxes and other items.
Electric sliding doors on both sides make entering and exiting the van effectively.
V6 Engine is very reliable. Traction control helps in inclement weather.

Great family car, smooth riding, with enough space for everyone. Excellent driving visability front, rear, and sides. The automatic dual doors is a convenient feature to let everyone in and out easily, and the heated seats are well worth it on those cold mornings.Jun 09, 2012

It is really hard to find a minivan that's as reliable as the Honda Odyssey. I am so happy to have owned one. Other than the regular maintenance it never gave us any problems. I wish the look was a little sleeker, but I'd rather have reliability over looks!May 29, 2012

economical and dependable, just would like it to be able to tow more than 3500 pounds, really 2500. it has held up well with being in the garage most of the time and low miles. sliding door rattled and went away for now. clock light out and rear air control knob broke with hardly any use. There is nothing that I can complain about with the Odyssey. It has everything for the entire family. It's reliable, provides great versatility, the only concern I have is with the front end suspension, (sometimes I forger it is a VAN). I drive it everyday and it is great for shuttling the kids around while the dvd player helps keep the peace during long trips. Dec 30, 2008

Positive: Interior quality is very high, Performance nice and agile, Braking is strong, Handling is very stable, Comfortable seats, versatility, storage, size, space, Design Ex and In, Gas mileage for a 7 seater is good.
Negative: Magic Seats have to remove headrests, and it is all one piece, and engine is a little bit too noisy.Jul 18, 2008

We bought it new at Koons Honda of Manassas in Manassas, VA when i was in ninth grade, and I describe it as the best damn car ever. It has every available option except the leather seats and navigation system. It is also a rare vehicle. Normally u had to get leather to get the DVD system, but in 2004, the last year for this body style, Honda made some with cloth seats, and we got one, silver with gray cloth. The DVD player no longer works, and is way too expensive to replace, so I just use my laptop. Since it is based on a car chassis and is lower to the ground than similar vehicles in its class, it handles like a dream and is incredibly agile. It has a powerful V6 under the hood that is fast while still managing to stay fuel efficient, all while taking regular fuel. The sliding doors can be annoying sometimes, but we love them most of the time. Everything with the exception of the DVD player is in perfect working order, and despite having high miles for a 2004 vehicle, it still runs and drives like new and requires absolutely no maintenance. If you are looking for a minivan, new or used, put the 1999-newer Honda Odyssey at the top of your list!Jul 16, 2008

second one, expensive to repair and maintain, but very safeJul 11, 2007
I started to town today and leaving the drive way it didnt want to start pulling in drive but eventually did. And coming home it stop pulling forward and backwards. Wat could make it stop pulling? I checked fluid its ok. Giving it gas hoping it would catch i can feel it tugging underneath somewhat not moving just tugging feel. Could it be electrical or shifting cable?
First of all, id like to mention i live in my van, and travel cross country in her. So, my odyssey has been acting kinda odd for a minute. The engine light came on, so I had her codes read at a shop. It came back as emissions, and they told me it was an o2 sensor. I continueddriving her afterwards, figured it was ok. A few days ago, she randomly would not turn over. I turned her off and waited about 10 mins. She started up fine. A few hours later, same thing. She ran fine afterwards for another day. Then, I noticed her overheating while driving on the highway. Pulled over, and see smoke from under the hood. The coolant reservoir was bubbling, and steaming. We let it cool down, added water to the radiator. Begin driving again, and not even a block later shes overheating again. We then noticed the thick white smoke coming from the tailpipe that smelled like syrup. Whenever I tries to start it again, it ran rough, like it was misfiring. If the van sits idling, it does not overheat. Only when I drive her for more than 3 or 4 minutes does she begin getting hot. You can hear the bubbling from inside the car. Help!!! We are also homeless and live in the van, so certain things that might be possible to someone with resources, we do not have.
My ignition wont turn on or come out of lock i have replaced fuses put it in neutral an still the switch is locked but it clicks when i have it in neutral i think its the starter what do u think??
Hey can some one please help I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The D is flashing and the all the other lights are on. Also the Fuse is burning out when it turns on. Also the van dose move but with alot of force.
