What’s New for the 2023 Honda Odyssey
For 2023, Honda has removed the base LX trim, now making the EX trim the entry point. Honda has also added a Sport trim to the lineup.
Design
The EX and EX-L trims come with 18-inch alloy wheels. The Touring and Elite trims come with 19-inch alloy wheels. The Sport trim slots in between the EX-L and Touring trim and features gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels. The Sport trim also includes black side mirrors, a black grille, and body-colored side sills.
Powertrain
The Odyssey is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. It makes 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission, making the minivan front-wheel-drive (FWD). When properly equipped, the Odyssey can tow up to 3,500 pounds. This powertrain returns EPA-estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined.
Interior
The three rows of seating in the Odyssey allow for up to eight passengers. With the second-row seats removed and the third-row seats folded. The Odyssey provides up to 158 cubic feet of cargo space. With the sliding second-row sets in use, the Odyssey provides between 86.6 and 92.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
Standard equipment on the Odyssey EX trim includes tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, push-button start, and remote keyless entry. The EX-L trim adds leather upholstery and a power lift gate. The Odyssey Sport adds red ambient interior lighting.
The Touring trim adds a wall-style power outlet, a heated steering wheel, a hands-free power lift gate, and wireless device charging. The Elite trim adds heated and ventilated front seats.
Technology
The standard infotainment system in the 2023 Odyssey is an intuitive 8-inch touchscreen. It is easy to use and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Odyssey Touring gains a 10.2-inch touchscreen, an 11-speaker premium stereo system, and a rear-seat entertainment system. Honda also offers innovations such as CabinWatch, which allows the driver to visually monitor rear-seat passengers. The live feed is presented on the front touchscreen.
Safety
The Odyssey comes with a generous list of standard driver-assistance features. This includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control that can stop and go with the flow of traffic. The Odyssey also includes automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition. Front and rear parking sensors are optional on the EX-L and standard on the Touring and Elite trims. The Elite also comes with rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Pricing
At the time of this writing, the base MSRP of the 2023 Honda Odyssey is $37,490 for an EX trim. The EX-L trim starts at $40,560, and the Sport trim starts at $41,360. The Touring trim starts at $44,600, and the range-topping Elite starts at $49,620. The Honda Odyssey is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
