For 2002, the Suzuki XL-7 got some extra horsepower, ABS brakes, and a fixed-up interior. The midsize SUV now has a 2.7 L, 183 hp V6 powertrain and comes int 8 trims. All trims have 4 doors and seat either 5 or 7, depending on the variation you choose.

Gas mileage generally comes out to 17 mpg in the city and 20 on the highway. Towing capacity maxes out at 3000 lbs. If you need extra room to hold your cargo, fold down the second and third rows and you'll get up to 73 cubic feet of space. Finally, the XL-7 gives you your choice of 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual transmission, depending on the trim you choose.

If you need an inexpensive SUV with decent handling, drivers agree that the '02 XL-7 does the job. However, a less-than-spacious interior and lower grade materials may dissuade potential consumers. In any event, if you can look past the flaws and its lack of power, the 2002 Suzuki XL-7 should make a solid choice for your first SUV.

Like this car alot. Great for winter driving in WI. Love that it has power everything and a moon roof! You can fit a lot of stuff in it too, including a greyhound. Only downside is not many garages know how to fix them.Jun 29, 2010

Numb steering, low quality interior, slow off the line, noisy, poor 2nd row hip-room, poor 2nd row legroom I'm only 5'8", unreliable build quality of interior materials, terrible paint quality, tire hungry, quite a bit of vibration at highway speeds. But on the other hand Amazing brakes, quiet and smooth transmission, will accelerate quickly if you push it! tons of cargo room in the back, form factor looks proportionate, amazing 4WD, amazing engineering quality, perfect build quality of chassis, decent mileage!Aug 02, 2009

Yes, i wouldn recommend this car to a friend. It's a great car if you're looking for the room. It gets pretty decent gas mileage. Holds alot of luggage if you like to go on sudden road trips, like myself. Overall, it's a great car, and I'm glad I own it.Dec 22, 2008
