Switching tire size just a tad on my 2008 suzuki xl7
My car normally takes 235x60x17 tires but I found a great deal on 225x65x17 tires and was wondering if they were interchangeable being so close in size? Thanks for any help.

Write a reviewAlthough it's not as big a player in the midsize SUV market as many of its more-popular competitors, the 2008 Suzuki XL-7's long-term transferable warranty and budget pricing appeal to families. The '08 XL-7 is Suzuki's largest crossover SUV, available in either front-wheel or on-demand all-wheel drive, with either two or three rows of seating. After a major overhaul last year, this year's version receives minor changes, most notably a less-expensive Base model and standard remote start (which also starts the climate control and heated seats), as well as a navigation system in the Limited and a standard sunroof in the Luxury trim.
Four trims are available for the 2008 Suzuki XL-7. The Base trim is nicely equipped with power features and a CD player, but comes only in two-row, five-passenger form and only in front-wheel drive. Mid-range Premium and Luxury trims add rear climate control, heated power seats, and leather upholstery, and are available with either two or three rows. The top-of-the-line Limited adds a navigation system, foglights, larger wheels, and a rear spoiler. It is only offered in the three-row, seven-passenger configuration. A new option this year for the Limited is a rearview camera. All trims earn five stars in crash tests and are outfitted with four-wheel ABS brakes, traction and stability control, rollover sensors, and dual front and side curtain airbags for each row. There is only one engine choice â?? a 3.6-liter, 252-hp V6 with variable valve timing. It's matched to a five-speed shiftable automatic transmission.
The XL-7's second row split-folds and tumbles 60/40, and in seven-passenger models the third row splits 50/50 and folds flat. With both rows down, the '08 XL-7 holds 95 cubic feet. The third row drastically cuts down on cargo space when up, from 49 cubic feet in the 5-passenger model to only 14 cubic feet. Another nice feature is a flat-folding front passenger seat, if you need to fit long objects. A roof rack is standard, and the midsize SUV is rated to tow 3,500 pounds. A decent price and a long list of convenience features makes the 2008 XL-7 attractive to families on a budget. Owners say the engine is powerful and smooth, though it can be noisy. No off-road capability, a cramped third row, and blind spots are downsides.

Finding parts and expense to fix now is out rages with parts Suzuki no longer sold here. But did hear GM parts work with it just as well. This car was used to travel long distances regularly(over 900 miles twice a year) just for vacations not counting time in town driving plus outside city driving regularly, haul furniture( bunk beds and recliners will fit, just fold sits down).Great Car till this year.Mar 05, 2015

Has been nothing but trouble. Hubs replaced twice before Suzuki quit business in US. Now ignition is acting up. Service/repair manual is not readily. No Suzuki dealers to repair. Frequently needs repair. Not easy to work on. Back door latch is a well known problem. Sep 07, 2014

I bought the XL7 for it's versatility, solid driving behavior, and price. After four years behind the wheel and giving it excellent care, the XL7 has continued to be the highly versatile, highly serviceable, and cost-effective vehicle I needed. After four years, its still solid, dependable, comfortable, and is simply very good at everything. Excellent in ice and snow handling for the AWD transmission and engine. And with dual A/C heating and a pretty good suspension it is comfortable in all weather. The design and drivetrain lend themselves to reliabillity, over highly spirited driving--the XL7 by design personality does not zip around anywhere and will resist spirited driving (sometimes saying so on it's display). For my uses, this car has been and continues to be a excellent.Apr 02, 2013

The wheel alignment on rear wheels was not right, out of the factory. I felt comfortable with the car during the test drive, I had just driven a 2009 Sorrento, and it seemed way better than the Sorreto. The XL7 has been flawless in snow storms, and DEEP snow. The fuel mileage averages 20mpg in summer, and 17.5 mpg in winter. For the money you can't beat this car for value, comfort (many options). Very good value for the money. Excellent acceleration, breaks, handling, ride, very comfortable seating for seven (7). And, great appearance inside and out, easy to maintain. And fun to drive.

I own a 2008 Suzuki XL7, it is a very nice SUV-Crossover. It comes in handy when you have a family of 5 and not so much money to spend on gas. Like: good engine power, outstanding cargo capacity, reasonably quiet interior, drives very well (feels kinda "heavy", wind doesn't blow it around much), nice amenities, comfortable, AWD, ESC, traction control, monitorable tire pressure, tows 3500lbs, lots of Suzuki accessories, high liftgate, lots of power jacks.
Dislike: cheapish-seeming interior (trim-level and accessory improvable), SUV-ish MPG, rear-visibility limited (rear camera helps).
