2002 Ford Escape XLT 4wd V6. I have an unknown broken soft hose coming off of a t-junction off the air flow hose and going to the front of the engine. The hose is broken at a right angle bend just before it ends by the front of the engine. What kind of hose is it? What does it do? How do I fix it? Where can I get the replacement part?

My battery light is still on after replacing alternator and battery when I check the voltage at idle 14.4 but the light is still on. I took it to Auto Zone and borrowed their computer plugged in, took it back, and they gave me a printed read out code B1676 battery pack voltage out of range does anyone know how to fix this problem?
