The partially digital gauges were clear, and most controls were intuitive, though the Mazda Connect infotainment system required some acclimation.

Handling was secure but limited, with early tire squeal and understeer when pushed hard. Visibility was excellent, aided by comprehensive camera systems, though the front camera's frequent screen takeover was a minor annoyance.
