Reviews SummaryUnlike some SUVs that only look like they were designed to excel in the dirt, the 2025 Ford Bronco delivers the goods. It’s more comfortable on streets and highways than the Jeep Wrangler and it offers buyers a wide range of variants to choose from. Verdict: Buyers would do well to consider carefully how they plan to use their car day in and day out before making the decision to buy a new Bronco. While the 2025 Bronco is an extremely fun beast that’s a blast to play with on-road and off, it requires some serious compromises to use as a daily driver, and it's hardly a bargain.
Reviews SummaryAutomakers have traditionally had a hard time making money on entry-level subcompact cars, because they have low profit margins, but America has largely moved away from cars to crossover SUVs—and higher prices. That allows car companies to offer an entry-level subcompact SUV for thousands more than a similar sedan or hatchback. Such is the case with the Hyundai Venue, which costs more than its predecessor, the subcompact Accent that was dropped after the 2022 model year. While the price is higher, the advantage for buyers is a vehicle that generally has more cargo space and is more practical. We recently drove the 2026 Hyundai Venue SEL w/2-Tone Roof (yes, that’s the trim level name) to find out if a subcompact crossover is a better buy than a cheaper subcompact car. Verdict: The Hyundai Venue sacrifices refinement for a price point that isn’t as low as a comparable subcompact car. We’d be tempted to spend a little more for a slightly larger compact car with more power, features, and refinement.

The 2025 Ford Bronco successfully captured the essence of its 1960s predecessor while incorporating modern design elements. Its boxy shape was softened with rounded corners, and the wide, horizontal design was particularly striking from the front, where a full-width rectangular grille and round headlamps dominated. The Bronco offered multiple top options, including soft, hard, or both, and the ability to remove the doors for an open-air experience. The optional Sasquatch package enhanced its off-road capabilities with 17-inch aluminum wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and a HOSS 2.0 suspension system, giving it a menacing look. With seven different versions available, including the high-performance Bronco Raptor, the Bronco catered to a wide range of buyers. The Big Bend model, equipped with the Sasquatch package, stood out with its Velocity Blue Metallic color, offering a balance of style and functionality.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue, classified as a crossover SUV, had a design that leaned more towards a tall hatchback. Its front-wheel-drive setup and 6.7 inches of ground clearance gave it a higher stance than a typical car, but it wasn't as tall as a standard crossover SUV. The Venue's design was compact and narrow, with an upright windshield and SUV-like cues such as a bluff nose and roof rails. The high nose was complemented by lower headlights and high-set daytime running lights, while black wheel flares and rocker panels added to its SUV appearance. Inside, the Venue featured a simple and functional design, with a digital instrument cluster and a small touchscreen that resembled an iPad on the dash. Body-color trim around the air vents and shifter added a touch of exterior flair to the interior.

The 2025 Ford Bronco offered two main engine options, with the Bronco Raptor featuring a unique, more powerful engine. The base 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivered 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, providing ample power for city and highway driving. The optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine increased output to 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, though it didn't enhance towing capacity, which remained at 3,500 pounds unless upgraded to the Bronco Raptor's 4,500-pound capacity. The standard seven-speed manual transmission was primarily used for off-road crawling, while a 10-speed automatic was optional on most trims and standard on higher trims. The Sasquatch package, with its locking differentials and large tires, significantly improved off-road performance. All Bronco models came with four-wheel drive, and the Badlands, Heritage, Stroppe, and Raptor trims featured an advanced 4WD system with an Automatic mode for challenging weather conditions.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue was one of the least powerful vehicles on the market, with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing just 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. The power was channeled through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to the front wheels, with no all-wheel-drive option. Despite its low power, the Venue's lightweight 2,738-pound frame allowed for a 0-60 mph time of 8.5–8.8 seconds. The Venue felt peppy in city traffic but struggled at highway speeds, with the CVT slow to downshift for more power. Handling was aided by its small size and low weight, making it easy to maneuver in traffic and park in tight spaces. The Venue's 6.7 inches of ground clearance resulted in some body lean in corners, but the steering was stable and direct.
The 2025 Ford Bronco offered ample space for two passengers in the two-door model, though rear seat access was challenging. The four-door model provided more rear space and easier access. The Sasquatch package's large tires and suspension raised the vehicle, requiring a step up into the cabin. Cargo space in the two-door model was 22.4 cubic feet, expanding to 53.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The four-door model offered 38.3 cubic feet with seats up and 83 cubic feet with seats folded, though the hard top reduced these figures slightly. The Bronco featured numerous storage cubbies, including door pockets, a smartphone tray, and MOLLE mounting points. Rear-seat passengers in the four-door model benefited from dedicated air conditioning vents and improved insulation for reduced road noise.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue's interior featured cloth and H-Tex seats with black upholstery and white contrast stitching, offering decent comfort and six-way manual adjustments. Headroom was plentiful, but legroom was limited for taller occupants. The rear seat accommodated average-sized adults, though taller passengers would struggle for legroom. The rear seat folded flat in a 60/40 split, providing 31.9 cubic feet of cargo space, while space with the seats up was 18.7 cubic feet. The Venue's rear cargo floor lifted to access a compact spare tire, with cost-cutting evident in the lack of sound deadening. The interior featured hard black plastic surfaces, with soft-touch materials limited to the center console and door armrests.
The 2025 Ford Bronco came standard with a 12-inch touchscreen running Sync 4 infotainment software, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A seven-speaker audio system was standard, with an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system available on higher trims. A second 12-inch screen served as a digital gauge cluster, customizable with various modes for off-road and safety settings. The Bronco featured five G.O.A.T. modes, with additional modes available on higher trims for specific off-road conditions.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue featured an 8-inch touchscreen for basic infotainment functions, including phone, radio, media, and phone-projection connections. It lacked navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio, but offered wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital instrument cluster displayed limited information and was not programmable. The audio system was a simple six-speaker unit, with no premium option available.
The 2025 Ford Bronco offered the Co-Pilot360 safety suite as an option on the base trim and standard on higher trims, including features like blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. Post-collision braking, hill-start assist, and hill-descent control were standard. The Bronco received top "Good" ratings from the IIHS for several crash tests, but its headlights received a "Marginal" rating. The NHTSA awarded it four stars for frontal crash safety and three stars for rollover testing.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue came with standard safety features like forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. Blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert were available on higher trims, but adaptive cruise control was not offered. The Venue received four out of five stars from the NHTSA, with the IIHS awarding it a top "Good" score in the small front overlap test. Headlight ratings varied between "Acceptable" and "Marginal" depending on the trim.
