Reviews Summary

Unlike some SUVs that only look like they were designed to excel in the dirt, the 2025 Ford Bronco delivers the goods. It’s more comfortable on streets and highways than the Jeep Wrangler and it offers buyers a wide range of variants to choose from.

Verdict: Buyers would do well to consider carefully how they plan to use their car day in and day out before making the decision to buy a new Bronco. While the 2025 Bronco is an extremely fun beast that’s a blast to play with on-road and off, it requires some serious compromises to use as a daily driver, and it's hardly a bargain.

Reviews Summary

Verdict: Even the base model Cayenne delivers an agile driving experience, but those willing to dig deep into their bank account for one of Porsche’s more expensive Cayenne models are rewarded with a spirited drive like no other. The competition here is stiff, in the form of other German SUVs like the Audi Q8, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLE, and their performance variants. However, the Cayenne is not here to lose.

2025 Ford Bronco

9/10

2025 Porsche Cayenne

8/10

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne presented itself as a versatile SUV, available in both a standard version with a squared-off rear end and a sporty Cayenne Coupe. The lineup ranged from the base Cayenne to the high-performance Cayenne Turbo GT, each with distinct exterior features. The GTS trim, which was the focus of our review, boasted high gloss black trim and bronze exhaust tips, along with a unique front fascia featuring larger air intakes and tinted headlights. The 21-inch wheels in anthracite gray and red brake calipers added to its sporty appeal. Inside, the Cayenne offered extensive customization options, from color choices to seat belts, allowing owners to create a unique cabin experience. Despite the potential for high costs, the interior was well-organized, with mechanical controls for essential features and a spacious layout, although the sliding center console was a minor drawback.

The 2025 Ford Bronco successfully captured the essence of its 1960s predecessor while incorporating modern design elements. Its boxy shape was softened with rounded corners, and the front featured a full-width rectangular grille flanked by round headlamps. The Bronco offered multiple top options, including removable soft and hard tops, for an open-air experience. The Sasquatch package enhanced its off-road capabilities with 17-inch aluminum wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and upgraded suspension. The Bronco lineup included seven versions, each with unique features and options. The Big Bend model, tested with the Sasquatch package, impressed with its Velocity Blue Metallic color and off-road prowess. The Bronco's design catered to a wide range of buyers, offering a model for every preference.

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offered a range of engines, each delivering impressive performance. The base 3.0-liter V6 produced 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, while the Cayenne S featured a V8 with 468 hp. The Turbo GT, available only as a coupe, boasted 650 hp. Plug-in hybrid options reached up to 729 hp. The GTS trim, with its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, delivered 493 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel drive. The Cayenne GTS accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 171 mph. Its agile handling was enhanced by components from the Turbo GT, a lower center of gravity, and Pirelli P Zero tires. The GTS offered a balance between sporty performance and daily driving comfort, with adaptive suspension and optional carbon ceramic brakes.

The 2025 Ford Bronco featured two main engine options, with the Bronco Raptor offering a unique, more powerful engine. The base 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivered 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, while the optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 produced 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The Bronco Raptor increased towing capacity to 4,500 pounds. Our test vehicle had a seven-speed manual transmission, with a low gear for off-road crawling. A 10-speed automatic was available on higher trims. The Sasquatch package improved off-road capabilities with locking differentials and large tires. All Bronco models came with four-wheel drive, and advanced 4WD systems were available on higher trims. The Bronco's independent front suspension provided a comfortable ride on pavement, while the Badlands trim offered additional off-road features.

Form and function

2025 Porsche Cayenne

8/10

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offered a la carte customization, with limited standard features. The base model included eight-way power-adjustable seats, two-zone climate control, and ambient lighting. Higher trims added features like a GT Sport steering wheel and Race-Tex headliner. The options list was extensive, allowing for personalized interiors with materials like carbon fiber and Neodyme. The Cayenne accommodated five passengers, with ample headroom in the second row. It could tow over 7,700 pounds and had a payload capacity of 1,400 pounds. Cargo space was smaller than competitors, with 27.3 cubic feet behind the second row, expanding to 60 cubic feet with seats folded. The coupe version offered less space, and plug-in hybrids further reduced cargo capacity.

The 2025 Ford Bronco provided ample space, especially in the four-door model. The two-door version offered 22.4 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to 53.3 cubic feet with seats folded. The four-door model increased cargo space to 38.3 cubic feet with the soft top, or 35.6 cubic feet with the hard top. The Bronco featured numerous storage cubbies, including door pockets, a smartphone tray, and MOLLE mounting points. Sturdy handles aided entry into lifted models. The four-door Bronco added rear air conditioning vents and improved insulation for reduced road noise.

It included wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Spotify, Apple Music, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. An optional 10.9-inch passenger screen allowed for navigation and media control. The system was user-friendly, with quick response times and voice control options. A head-up display provided essential information, though it appeared dim with polarized sunglasses. The Cayenne included four USB-C charging ports and a cooled wireless charging area.

The 2025 Ford Bronco came standard with a 12-inch touchscreen running Sync 4 infotainment software, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A seven-speaker audio system was standard, with an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system available on higher trims. A second 12-inch screen served as a digital gauge cluster, customizable with various modes. The Bronco featured five G.O.A.T. modes, with additional modes on higher trims for off-road conditions. The digital gauge cluster displayed animations for each mode.
