2023 Genesis GV80 Reviews SummaryWe first got an idea of the GV80 in 2017 at the New York Auto Show when the company debuted a concept. Fast forward to 2021 when we saw the first production model and we knew it would be a hit. Over the past two years, our admiration has only grown. Available with Standard, Advanced, or Prestige packages, the GV80 is a midsize luxury SUV with plenty of features, offering stellar value for those who recognize a good deal when they see it. Verdict: With great styling inside and out, plus a healthy choice of potent powertrains, the Genesis GV80 is an attractive and capable option in the midsize luxury SUV segment. It's technology can require a bit of a learning curve, but there are few true faults with this vehicle.
2024 Ford Bronco Reviews SummaryFord reintroduced the Bronco for the 2021 model year, and it’s been an exciting run ever since. Initial demand far outstripped supply, but Ford went ahead and added the more-capable Everglades and Raptor versions to the 2022 Bronco lineup. Heritage-inspired variants followed them up for 2023. Now, the 2024 Bronco adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system, a more rugged front bumper on the Bronco Badlands, and two new colors for the Bronco Raptor. Verdict: In the summer of 2024, Ford is still clearing unsold 2023 Broncos from inventory, suggesting cooling demand for the rough and tough SUV. A federal investigation into V6 engine problems and poor fuel economy ratings aren’t helping to sell them. Nevertheless, there is plenty to love about the 2024 Ford Bronco.

The 2023 Genesis GV80 presented a sophisticated and graceful exterior with its quad-lamp headlights and bold grille, embodying a stately presence at over 16 feet long. The Prestige trim featured 22-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its elegant look, especially with the matte Brunswick Green paint. The rear design echoed the quad lamp look with four-part taillamps above the dual exhaust. Inside, the dark green quilted leather seats complemented the metal and matte wood trim, while the center console was highlighted by three large dials for infotainment, transmission, and drive modes. Despite the 14.5-inch infotainment screen appearing somewhat out of place, the interior was spacious and luxurious, offering a pleasant environment.
In contrast, the 2024 Ford Bronco embraced a retro design reminiscent of the 1960s, particularly successful in the two-door model. The Sasquatch Package, a notable upgrade, added a suspension lift and 35-inch mud-terrain tires, giving the Bronco a rugged and purposeful appearance. The Big Bend trim in Hot Pepper Red paint featured LED signature lighting and a hardtop, with the Sasquatch Package enhancing its off-road capabilities. Inside, the Bronco offered a comfortable experience with marine-grade mildew- and water-resistant upholstery, though it lacked breathability. The interior was practical, with an 8-inch digital instrumentation display and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the square side mirrors and nearly vertical windshield provided good visibility.

The 2023 Genesis GV80 offered two engine options: a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, and a turbo 3.5-liter V6 producing 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While not particularly quick, taking about five and a half seconds to reach sixty, the GV80 excelled in highway driving with smooth power delivery and shifts. Its electronically controlled suspension and active noise cancellation contributed to a quiet and comfortable ride.
The 2024 Ford Bronco Big Bend came standard with a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine delivering 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, with a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 offered 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, while the Raptor model boasted a 3.0-liter V6 with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft. The Bronco's part-time 4WD system and various off-roading technologies, including Trail Control and Trail Turn Assist, enhanced its off-road capabilities. However, its fuel efficiency was lacking, with an average of 16.9 mpg during testing.
The 2023 Genesis GV80 prioritized luxury and comfort with features like heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and the Ergo Motion driver’s seat. The interior offered Nappa leather seats and a tri-zone climate control system, while the optional 21-speaker stereo system and panoramic glass roof added to the premium feel. The GV80 provided ample cargo space, with 34.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 84 cubic feet with the seats folded, and a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.
The 2024 Ford Bronco, particularly in the four-door configuration, offered a spacious interior with comfortable seating for four adults. The marine-grade vinyl upholstery was practical but lacked breathability. The Bronco's interior was versatile, with removable roof panels and doors for an open-air experience. Cargo space in the two-door model was 22.4 cubic feet, expanding to 53.3 cubic feet with the seats folded. The four-door model offered 38.3 cubic feet with the soft top and 83 cubic feet with the seats down, though the hardtop reduced these figures slightly.
The 2023 Genesis GV80 featured a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster, and a head-up display. While the infotainment system had a learning curve, it included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, though not wirelessly. The GV80 also offered remote smart parking assist, allowing the vehicle to park itself without the driver inside.
The 2024 Ford Bronco came standard with a 12-inch touchscreen Sync 4 infotainment system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, FordPass Connect services, and a seven-speaker stereo. However, the system experienced connectivity issues with Apple CarPlay and voice recognition. The Bronco Trail App provided access to trail maps and information, enhancing its off-road appeal.
The 2023 Genesis GV80 was equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver aids, including forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Its Highway Drive Assist system offered hands-on/eyes-up driving aid on approved highways. The GV80 received a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA and a Good rating for crashworthiness from the IIHS.
The 2024 Ford Bronco Big Bend included standard safety features like forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking. The Mid Package added Ford Co-Pilot360 technologies, enhancing safety and maneuverability. The Bronco received favorable ratings from the IIHS, except for its headlight performance, and a four-star frontal-impact rating from the NHTSA.
