Not simply a utility wagon, the 2007 Pontiac Vibe also adds some zip to your city commute. The major change in the 2007 Vibe is the loss of its AWD and GT trims. Now only available in one trim, it is powered by a 1.8-liter, 126-hp 4-cylinder engine and standard 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic is optional. Since it's set up as a wagon, the 2007 Vibe does actually offer a lot of cargo hauling options. A track system in the trunk features tie-downs and extra storage configurations. Both the 60/40 split fold rear seat and the front passenger seat fold flat, giving you up to eight feet of added storage length. Though it's lost some of its power and sporty accouterments associated with the all-wheel drive, the basic feature set is not bad. Dual front airbags, air conditioning, a roof rack, tilt steering, and a CD player will satisfy those on a budget. Many option packages add on power features, cruise control, OnStar, leather seats, keyless entry, and XM. The 5-door Vibe can hold a lot of cargo, and is also pretty comfortable for four people. Great fuel economy makes it a versatile personal car or family vehicle. Most drivers like the tight handling and the sporty feel of this Matrix cousin. There are some complaints about paint chipping quickly and the need for more horsepower, but overall, owners find it fun and peppy and practical.

Compact yet can be used to camp - sleep in when the passenger seat is fully pushed down - move items up to 6 feet long and 3 feet high. Incredible stamina for long drives and very versatile around the city. Excellent mileage - low maintenance and quite comfortable for a small car.
The value is excellent and will last easily beyond 350,000 km if properly looked after. My Pontiac Vibe is a 2009 with 240,000 and to date absolutely no issues other then regular maintenance.Jun 01, 2022

I've had two of these Pontiac Vibes. The Vibe is a twin of the Toyota Matrix. They were made on the same assembly lines and consist of the same parts. You get Toyota reliability and Pontiac pricing. It's going to last a long time. Apr 15, 2015

I wish we still had Pontiac around because this car gets great mileage and is fun to drive and easy to park and very reliable! I would love to be able to buy a new one! Since I can't, this was the next best thing- only 27k miles on it! The moonroof and Monsoon sound are nice extras!Feb 10, 2015

LOVED IT, would buy another but they don't make them anymore. This is a brilliant collaboration between GM and Toyota, the engine and transmission will go approximately 5 more years with low maintenance, low gas costs, low repair.

The lightness of this vehicle is it's best attribute. It's can be tossed into corners giving it a spirited personality. It has the heart of a race car, but the legs of a sloth with the auto trans gears favoring optimal mpgs. I think it's a very reliable trans, but it really sucks the life from the Toyota power plant. Overall, it's a great first car or a practical choice for a small family with little spacial needs.Dec 24, 2013

I put a touch screen in ittt and it drives pretty nice i would say. I have to put 20 more words. Its pretty fun to drive i would say, its alright. Its a good first car at least haha :)Aug 18, 2009

amazing gas milage, though i find there's not enough leg room. no guts off the line but lots of staying power. Ove the fact that it's fully loaded but it cost me. The sound system makes it fun to drive but it's a bit difficult to figure out what all the symbols mean.Nov 11, 2008

Catalytic Converter
Pontiac Vibe, 2007 check engine light came on. The deanship told me they didn't make them anymore for vibes, and to take it to a muffler shop to put a universal one in. When I spoke to the muffler shop on the phone they quoted me $450. When I took the car in to the muffler shop they are now saying they can't put a universal one in and are quoting me $1,000!!!

I am replacing the clutch starter safety switch on my 2007 Vibe. The replacement switch is very different from the one I removed.
The new switch is about half the length of the old one. I don't think the wiring harness will fit its connector. There doesn't seem to be any way to screw its bolt into position so that the clutch can depress the plunger. It is the only clutch switch any parts person- even the Pontiac dealer can find. What am I missing here? The switch I took out looks almost exactly like the brake light switch (no, it is still in place on the brake pedal).
