Honda's latest model, the 2007 Honda Fit, is a front wheel drive, five-door, wallet-friendly little car that apparently has loads of room. In fact, even though it's more than a foot and a half shorter than the Civic sedan, there's just as much passenger space and more cargo space.
The Honda Fit comes with a 5-speed standard or automatic transmission. Each trim coms with front and side airbags and ABS. But each also comes with a bit of interior noise while driving (according to reviewers) and relatively slow acceleration with the 109 hp engine topping out at 5800 rpms.
With an MSRP of about $13,850 to $15,170, few complain about the price. The Fit also sports a large fuel tank, at 10.9 gallons capacity, meaning you can drive for about 375 miles or more on one tank.
No sun roof option is available, and the Fit is bit basic on the feature level - including no auto-up on the power windows and no right arm rest. But the price can't be beat.

Love driving this car and love all of the room it has! Great for gas mileage. Cheap to buy, cheap to drive, but loaded with smart features. Would definitely buy another when I drive this into the ground in a number of years.Mar 21, 2015

Love Hatchbacks first of all. My friends don't like the style, but they obviously don't have any(laughs). It's a small, compact car that can take me anywhere, without blowing all my money on gas. Great for taking my siblings out- there's enough leg room for everyone(though I might add that only one sibling that is 6'3"- he sits in the front for leg room!). Has amazing cargo space for when I take my trips, and of course the back seats fold down just in case I need more space! Great car overall- my baby is going over 200,000 Miles, and she's still been good to me.
Not a lot of bad things I can say about this car. I have the base model, so I wish they included the AUX port for it, and maybe cruise control(laughs) but okay okay the only issue I've really had with it is that it's hard to work inside the hood(it is compact after all), but then again my hands are a little swollen and big.Jul 09, 2014

-I've been driving the Fit for a year now, and what a great car! Tons of cargo room with the folding rear seats, I fit 3 people, 3 hockey bags and everyone's sticks in no problem. Roomy interior for a subcompact.
-The car handles really well with wider aftermarket rims, and aftermarket parts (headers, intakes, etc) are super cheap to buy. I installed Progress lowering springs and they improved handling and looks a lot. If you unbolt the muffler and just put a straight pipe on it sounds really good, not too loud or raspy because of the factory resonator. With the manual tranny it's actually a lot of fun to drive. Being that the car is light acceleration is actually quite good, and if you have a long enough road you can peg the speedometer at 220km/h. Keep in mind though that it isn't a speed demon!
-Ride quality is firm, you definitely feel the bumps in the road.
-Build quality is typical Honda, nothing has ever broken and maintenance cost is low. Safety is also great with 6 airbags standard.
-Gas mileage is good but not great, keep it out of VTEC (below 4000 RPM) for best mileage. Gas tank is pretty small so you have to fill up frequently.
-My only gripes are the lack of options on the base model I drive (no power locks, no AC, only 2 speakers) and the car has a tendancy to rust around the rear keyhole and where the rear quarters meet the plastic.Feb 19, 2014

I've owned this car since it was new. It has never failed me. I've taken care of it, and it has taken care of me. Love the handling, ease of getting into tight spots. Low cost to maintain. Fun to drive.Jan 28, 2013

good small car but has lot of space inside. The seats are not so comfortable for the long trip. Engine is small and lack of power. Good for the student and small family. Overall, it is a nice car. I would recommend this car to anyone.Aug 09, 2012

Sluggish acceleration, even with paddle shifters in use. So-so brakes, but great handling, very nimble. Great build quality, solid car, no noises. Good, tidy appearance, cool stereo with auxiliary jack for iPod. Superb gas mileage, no maintenance besides oil changes, tires, etc. Great reliability! Somewhat fun to drive in town, but horrid on the highway, besides mileage of course.May 11, 2010

It handles really well.
Built well except some rattles within the interior.
It is not a smooth ride....really feel bumps in the road, but still fun to drive.
Looks nice and quite roomy for its size.
Gas mileage is good....averaging 37 MPG

Performance: Handles very well, with excellent braking and turn radius. Not much horsepower though, but it's low to the ground and an absolute BLAST to drive.
Build Quality: The car is built well, and I like the way it's put together. Also, it's really safe. I've been in the car when it was pretty much totaled, and didn't even have a sore neck.
Appearance: Adorable.
Cost of Ownership: It's built like a Honda, it doesn't break down. The factory tires suck, and you should replace them after 10k miles, but the oil life is much longer than the norm, and the mileage is excellent.
Fun Factor: While there might not be too much in the way of HP, the car makes up for it by being slung low to the ground, and with great visibility, so you feel like you're going much faster than you are. Passengers may also suspect that they are about to die if you take advantage of how well it brakes and turns.Dec 03, 2009

Engine could use more poke, but chassis balance is great because the car weighs just a bit over 1000 kg (2200 lb). The build quality is good although cheap plastics abound, and refinement isn't a strong suit due to stiff rear springs and high levels of road/tire noise. It's small, cute as a button and easy to park, yet has more space than you would think - it can haul a lot of irregularly-shaped things. This car can run forever on regular servicing and is cheap to keep as a daily driver. Definitely fun to drive.Jul 09, 2009

The Fit can "fit" just about anything inside. This car has more interior volume than my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The gas mileage is excellent as I have marked 40 mpg at least three times over the last year of ownership. Even though the inside is big, the driving position for a 6'3" guy is not the best. Long trips get to be longer. However, the around town stuff is a breeze. Need a gallon of milk? The Fit makes it quick and fun with the optional flappy paddle gearbox. Very rare in a car costing $15,000. Build quality is right up there, it is a Honda anyway. The insurance is average and the maintainence is average also. Just keep up with what the books tell you can this car can run forever.Apr 27, 2009

I really like how roomy it is. I like its practicality. It is fun to drive - good performance, especially using the sport shift. Nice handling, nice braking. Consider buying the 5 speed manual for more fun. Costs of ownership are low. Fun to drive. Buy one!Feb 24, 2009

Dorky but sweet. Like Jeremy Clarkson said of the Fiat Panda, it's like a little donkey. An ideal daily driver for short to medium commutes and not terrible on long drives. Even though it only makes 109 hp, the short gearing puts them all to work. Great shifter. Brakes can be grabby and the electronic throttle takes some getting used to. But man, that interior is shockingly well designed in terms of space usage. Practical, well built, fun to drive (think CRX) and unpretentious. Dec 12, 2008

Excellent gas millage! I get 36 CITY! I do have the 5 speed manual and MPG goes down when it gets winter here in Illinois; closer to 32-33 city. Even though it cost less than $17K, this car's fit (no pun) and finish are on par with some $20K vehicles. The interior textures are a nice mix of microfiber and plastic. That is where some money savings are evident. Not much metal inside the Fit. The exterior styling may take some getting used to, but check out some street-racer mods out there and you can see it's sportiness shine! Very good to excellent little city commuter with enough quick handling to be somewhat go-cart-like. Topping off the tank from halfway for $17 ain't too bad either. (5 gal @ $3.40gal)

I love its go-kart like handling! It's fun and maneuverable. It sips gas (when I stay out of the v-tec) and is comfortable & has an amazing amount of room! Mine has the HFP (Honda Factory Performance Alloy Rims) and it can go through corners better than ANY other car in its class.Oct 05, 2008

I love this car, and it's small size is great for someone that doesn't have to worry about a lot of cargo room, but is still great for someone that needs a lot of space. The fold-down seats are definitely a plus if you're moving a round a lot or transporting large boxes. Gas mileage on it is terrific - between 28 and 35 mpg - it's ideal for someone that still has some highway driving to do, but wants good gas mileage in the city. On the inexpensive side as well. Sport model with all upgrades was just over $17k, and it has the best safety rating of its class.Sep 16, 2008

Minus is the exterior styling, headrests and Pillars block your view when looking back and reversing, a pretty big amount of body roll, and acceleration is a little too slow. Braking and handling are a plus, and so is the steady, firm and comfy ride. Interior is good quality and funky. Versatility and Headroom. Cargo room is a decent size, and the headrests and seats are comfortable. And it is at a bargain price.Jul 18, 2008

This car is amazing, it carries as much as most small to mid sized SUVs. It only looks small, we have loaded it with 2 dogs, a baby and what we need for the weekend. It is also fun to drive. I have a hard time faulting this car.Jul 14, 2008

The Fit is the perfect car for hauling kids to and from their activities! It has enough room for a family of 4 and their stuff. I am 6'2" and my oldest son is 6' and he has leg room in the back behind me.Feb 27, 2008

While no sports car the Fit hints at being sporty with the high revs and paddle shifters. What is great about the car is how small, yet roomy the car is. You can seriously ask this car to do anything (except go 110mph) and it will comply. It's actually pretty fun to drive in the city too. You can haul a good amount of stuff in it too- just don't try anything TOO big or expect a lot of response from the engine when you fill the car with a bunch of stuff/people.
This is my girlfriend's car and, while not my style, I really do like it. It makes for a great car to take on trips too.Feb 22, 2008

I switched to an 07 Fit Sport with automatic transmission from an 05 Toyota Matrix XRS. I am getting 26mpg in town with the fit, 2 better than the Matrix. However, my 0-60 is now 12 seconds, as compared to 8.3 in the Matrix. For some reason, the Fit seems to have less power than I would have expected. With the exception of the power/gas mileage ratio, my only complaint with the Fit is the electrical system. The headlights noticeably change brightness while driving, and the Fit has 1 less 12volt outlet than the Matrix, and does not have the Matrix's very handy 115volt outlet on the dash. The emergency handling is incredible, though, considering the lack of stability control. Great car, just would have been better with the Civic engine.Apr 19, 2007
My 2007 honda fit had some sputtering problems while on idle. I knew car suffers from this so i replaced all 4 coils and spark plugs. That seemed to be its problem throughout the past years but now the problem persists even though coils, spark plugs were replaced. CEL was on so I scanned it for codes and it threw a P1100 or something indicating it was the O2 sensor so I replaced it. I also replaced the fuel pump filter and check engine light turned off but the engine is still giving me that sputtering failure. No CEL like I said, And dunno what else could it be. Any suggestions? Car has 184k miles on it and I am the sole owner. Thanks
Hi there, I've got Honda fit. It suddenly started having this issue. When engine is hot (after 5-10km drive), it losses the RPM for fraction of seconds and comes back to normal. It does it constantly every time with each acceleration (about @40 &60 km/h). No engine light and no error code is there. Please let me know how I can fix it. Thank you very much in advance. Marry Christmas. Rohan.
Honda Fit / hub caps ,all of my hub caps were stolen in a school parking lot while teaching in the school. is there a cheaper or generic hub cap that can fit. The Honda dealer priced them out for $150. each ,that seems a little pricey to me?
I bought a 2007 Honda fit and just realized that it didn't come idle pulley. I'm been using it for a month and it works perfect. My question is. Does it really needs the idle pulley?
