The car formerly known as the Lincoln Zephyr made its debut under that name in 2006 after not earning the expected level of success under its previous name, the LS. The Lincoln Zephyr did not even get a chance to be a sophomore, as it was given its new name, MKZ, for the 2007 model year. This new name is part of Lincoln's move to phase in to an all-letters naming scheme for its products, minus the Navigator and Town Car, that they hope will help to distinguish it from Ford Motors' other makes and also help to attract younger buyers. Along with its updated moniker, the car received larger doses of style and power. The MKZ is quite similar to its sibling cars, the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but it is more powerful (263 horsepower vs. 221), plus it is available in an all-wheel drive trim while the others are not. There is no outwardly visible difference between this car and the 2006 Zephyr, aside from minor changes to the grille and front bumper. The sedan's competition includes the Toyota Avalon, the Volvo S60, and the VW Passat. The plush-riding MKZ has won accolades specifically for its interior design, earning an award for the Best Premium Car Interior, as chosen by voters from the auto industry as well as automotive publishing. Lincoln put in lots of sound-deadening to keep the ride nice and quiet. Highlights on the MKZ's list of standard equipment include 10-way, power-adjustable leather front seats, chrome-finished dual exhaust, automatic climate control, and 17-inch spoked wheels. Available options include seat coolers, a 14-speaker/600-watt audio system, and an upgraded interior trim package. It comes in 10 exterior colors and 3 interior colors.

The car has a very comfortable ride. It has proper power to get moving. The AWD is great in the snow. Key is good tires with a long life. This 2007 Lincoln has most all of the options of current models.Mar 27, 2015

I really can't think of anything I just want to Try a different car. It has good acceleration creation for a luxury car nothing like a performance model. Great breaking and overall handling. Ya felt safe, I could always visualize myself drifting but knew that prob wouldn't be safe but seems so fun though. Yes, fun to drive . I felt professional and glamours with a hint of sporty driving. My wife said this was a old persons car when I first purchased it used. Now I can't get my hands back on it. Had some trouble with AWD transmission just before warranty was done. Ford fixed without an issue. Chrome on tires flaked causing them to not hold air pressure. Finally had to replace to keep my sanity. This car is considered a Luxury Sports car for insurance purposes. Go figure. Anyways it is more expensive to insure. Has key pad to get into which my wife loves as a runner. When driving in snow the backend will tend to swing out, but the AWD and traction control will bring it quickly back online. Disconcerting at first, but adds to the fun later. This car has a lot of power for it's size and a V6 which is fun and will push you back into your seat when needed...Nov 28, 2013

Overall this is a great car looks good the convenience options it has are great, it preforms well and has good power. It is a very safe drive it brakes and handles well. The repair cost are not high at all since it is a ford.May 08, 2013

this ia a great car to own, the ride is amazing, the engine has the power you want if you need it, the audio system is better than most, the heated seats are AMAZING during the cold winter, fuel economy for this size car is OUTSTANDING

Point blank I loved the car itself... The performance of this car was amazing great speed for 263-hp... It was built to amazment I loved the size had so much space... The appearance was spectacular even though I'm more of a black type of guy the silver was amazing as far as the inside it was almost full loaded with electronic miles per gallon, how much gas till empty and sirius satellite radio... As far as ownership it was about 350 a month on a lease with all the components I had it for and maintenance was maybe $60-$75 an oil change every 3,000 - 5,000 miles... Lastly overall this car was great to drive, flashy with a great sound system that sounded like you had purchased a system... Only bad thing you cant let the car run to long with the power off u will have to jump it off.... But almost forgot remote keyless entry with remote start up for those who are lazy....Aug 04, 2009

It looks like its smiling. The seats blow cold air on you. It gets cold really fast. I could get it without GPS, Sync, Bluetooth, OnStar or satellite radio; otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten it. 2007 Lincoln MKX Headlamp Warning chime on key removal
We're experiencing something odd, headlights are set to Automatic mode; periodically when we shut off the vehicle and remove the key the car sounds the headlight chime. We lock the door and go in the house and the headlights stay on for way longer than the normal like 2 minutes, more like 30 minutes. It's very annoying.
