The 2007 Avalon continues as the flagship of the Toyota family. The full-size luxury sedan was introduced in 1995, and it is now in its third generation. The original Avalon filled the void left by the Toyota Cressida, but this new model had evolved beyond its predecessor in all respects. The Avalon was larger, more powerful, and better equipped than the Cressida.
The Avalon is available in four trim levels, with the most luxurious version still falling short of $40,000. The Avalon line begins with the XL, but even this base model is considerably well appointed. The XL includes automatic climate control, power seats, and a CD player. The seconding tier is the Avalon Touring, which features a sport-tuned suspension, standard leather seats, and 17-inches wheels.
The XLS will add a few additional features, like a six-disc CD changer, moon roof, and heated mirrors. The Limited trim brings the Avalon into Lexus territory, adding memory seats, heating and cooling seat features, wood trim, JBL audio, and and keyless start. The XLS and Limited also have a larger selection of options.
Every Toyota Avalon uses the same engine: a 3.5 liter 24-valve V-6. This engine, also used in the Lexus ES350, is supported by Dual Variable Valve Timing + intelligence. This TRD technology boosts horsepower while lower emissions and fuel consumption. The 3500 pound Avalon speeds from 0 to 60 mph in just under seven seconds, thanks to 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy is surprisingly high for this large sedan, at 22/31 mpg.
Toyota will not include the new six-speed automatic transmission found in the Tundra pickup, but the 5-speed will utilize the same ECT-i and sequential shift system. All Avalons are front wheel drive.

Yes I own two Toyota Avalons a 05 and a 2011 they were good cars but I got hit in both of them because people cannot drive in North Carolina I am in the process of looking for another one right now I had a 2013 Lexus when I bought it at 50,000 miles on it by the time I got to 80,000 miles I was having transmission problems with it so do yourself a favor stay away from the Lexus ES 350 they are not better than the Toyota AvalonApr 13, 2024

I bought this Avalon LTD for my wife who is an 8th grade teacher. We came out of a Honda Accord. She said that the Honda was to light. The Avalon is a heavy car that really hugs the road. And that makes her fell safe. The back seat is so big 3 adults feel like they are in a limo. Trunk is huge and easy to get groceries in and out. As she drives the Hwy, we were getting 32 to 33 MPG, Burns Reg Gas. Plenty of storage in the front. I like the Avalon better than the Lexus ES350, it's bigger and drives better.Apr 17, 2015

If I didn't need to get a SUV, I'd have kept this one. I was original owner and car has been excellent. Comfortable, roomy and very good gas mileage. I will definitely buy another one when the need arises. A real gem! Aug 09, 2014

I purchased the car because we had to make weekly 400mi roundtrips on the I-95. The car was a fantastic choice for long distance travel. Highly recommend this car. The seating is very comfortable. The back seat is very spacious and has recliners built into it.Aug 21, 2013

This Toyota Avalon is great when entering or merging with traffic. Cruise control is helpful and the front seats are very comfortable. Lumbar support and heat when you need it, especially during the winter mornings. Spacious interior both in the front and back seats.Sep 18, 2012

Love how it handles. Very solid, good pick-up, decent gas mileage. Comfortable for both 5'4" me and 6'10" husband. Would have liked a stereo system that reads mp3 files and interfaced with iPod, but if that's my only complaint, then that's not bad. Hard to close trunk, but I've built up some good muscles making sure it latches. Love the Smart Key system. When this one is old and ready to retire, I'd buy another one! And yes, while it looks like a car for old people, it's fun to drive!Oct 25, 2008

My baby is a dream. She is smooth, responsive, beautiful, comfortable and other great qualities.
It is a very well built car with lots of class. She brings me about 24-25 mpg in town, and just over 30 on the road. That is including some 75-80 mph areas on last couple of trips.
I have had her over a year and am still finding out goodies. She is lots of fun. She has lots of room and everyone has commented how much space they have anywhere they sit. I like the automatic back window shade and how the mirrors tint green at night when lights come in bright. Oct 02, 2008

Here's the femail perspective: My Avalon came with black leather and trim. It looks great, but really shows the sand that we have so much of in Florida. The car handles great and the ride is super-smooth. Great acceleration, but it also gets good gas mileage (22/31). The upgraded rims and low rear spoiler give the car a rich look. Aug 28, 2008

Water hose popping off the bottom of washer fluid container.
Leaks at fromt winshield pillars...coming in at speaker areas.
tire sensors gone bad already...had a repair visit for this.
rear spoiler coming off...had repair visit for this and it is coming off again.
Overall car is a big disappointment. Got swept up in the looks of the car.

I have a Toyota have a lawn and I replaced the stock radio with an aftermarket radio with all the correct harnesses and done by professional. After the radio was installed the screen only displayed a blue screen with an F in the bottom. Is there anything I can check or do to get it fixed?

2007 Toyota Avalon Dash lights on.
I have a 2007 Toyota Avalon and the battery light came flashing on its own then started to stay on, along with all the other dash lights coming on. The Climate control screen is flickering and the compass in the rearview mirror says "00". My assumption is that its the alternator that went bad, or something with the charging system. Asking to see if anyone here has anymore input at all.
