The ever-elegant Town Car, which can seat 6 in comfort, lives on as one of a dying breed in an SUV world. America's highways were once a sea of full-sized domestic luxury cars, but because of rising fuel prices and evolving trends, those days are long gone..
Lincoln's version of the land-yacht is available in four trim levels. It's the surviving option for the car buyer who likes spaciousness and plush comfort, yet doesn't want to have to climb into a towering behemoth. This breed of buyer is certainly discerning - and nearly always grey of hair. Lincoln's legendary ocean-liner of the asphalt boasts best-in-class front and rear hip room, shoulder room, front head room, and trunk space (21 cubic feet). This year there's a new, even longer incarnation, the L trim, which measures in with an additional half-foot of length. A more important newsflash for 2007 is the introduction of a standard flexible-fuel engine, which lends this land-barge a dose of environmental friendliness. Town Cars with this engine are sold in all states except for the same ones that are non-diesel; those sold in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont feature a traditional gasoline-burning engine with the same specs (4.6-liter, single overhead cam V8). Besides that there are no real changes to report this year, but the following additions were made to the list of standard equipment: dual-zone auto climate control, power-adjustable pedals, door-mounted programmable keyless entry keypad. All but the lowest-price trim get a power open/close trunk lid and available trunk organizer. Three additional paint colors/finishes bring the total of choices to 16. Lincoln is proud to note that its Town Car has earned 5 stars in NHTSA frontal crash-testing for the seventh consecutive year. State-of-the-art air bags, ABS, and traction control are all standard, making this a safe vehicle for sure.

Awesome car! Very nice ride. Roomy. Huge trunk. And very durable. Will easily handle a significant amount of abuse. I personally have a heavy foot and am much harder on vehicles than your average individual. My car has 125k miles on it with one previous owner (an old man that died). My only issues so far have been a failed fuel pump, not too hard to change. However, I recommend using an oem fuel pump as opposed to a generic equivalent because I went with the generic off of Amazon for like $50 as opposed to an oem that was between $250 and $500 and I see that it doesnt have the same performance and is now already starting to fail after only 6 months use. The other issue is a very common one among these cars and others with the 4.6L V8 engine and its unfortunate design flaw, which is the plastic intake manifold becoming brittle from repeted heating and cooling cycles. When this happens, something (a heater hose connection, in my case) will break off and the intake will need to be replaced. Aside from that, my only real expenses have been routine maintenance and keeping gas in it. They do tend to drink a lot, especially if you drive hard like I do. If not, then theyre actually pretty reasonable on fuel for a V8.Dec 29, 2023

This particular one had A/C issues and a non-functioning window plus a few scrapes. It also had the transmission replaced and had been in several times for same issue so I worried they never fixed the original issues with this car. However, Town Cars in general, I love them. I have owned a few and for the most part they were very good cars. The closest is a Cadillac and for whatever reason GM products give me lots of issues so I no longer consider them at all for my personal use.Aug 10, 2022

The Lincoln Town Car is a great car. I wish Lincoln had just given it an engine and transmission upgrade to get more horsepower and updated the interior with modern options. I am not interested in any of the current Lincoln cars. They are too small. They look like every other sedan out there. They no longer look like a true luxury car. Comfort and surprising MPG=22 combined. Mostly 55
mph highway driving. We use this car for traveling,
chauffering relatives and going to parties/celebrations.
No major mechanical problems, but did have heater
blower motor (burn out), power seat (quit on trip to
Florida) and hub caps (plastic retainers broke off)
problems. Acceleration, braking are fine but don't try to
do any fancy turning with this giant. Wife doen't like to

2007 Lincoln Town Car - Rear (left and right) are uneven.
A little over a year ago our Town Car lost its smooth ride. My wife shows me with what I call the "Jurassic Park" test. She has a glass of water in the center console cup holder and it ripples as the car is moving at a steady speed on the highway. It did not do this when we obtained the car with 12,000 miles on it. It has 106,000 now. It's her 4th Town Car and she knows how they are supposed to ride. She also noticed that the left and right rear of the car are at different heights, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch different. We took it to a private mechanic who replaced the shocks with higher quality aftermarket shocks, thinking that would fix it and it did not. He said we would have to take it to a dealership and have them adjust it with a tool only the dealers have. We took it to a Ford dealer and they said that it needs Ford shocks, not the ones that the previous mechanic put on. I said, if that will fix it then ok. We also had them put on new tires, so they would not say "Its your tires". They recommend and put on Michelin Defender Tires, The ride is still not smooth like it should be and they are saying "Its because of the car has 106K miles". The rear left and right heights are still different too. Any Ideas?
