It's difficult to remember a car generating quite as much buzz as the Ford Shelby GT500, the 500-horsepower, 5.4-liter V8-propelled muscle machine released by Ford in the summer of 2006. Taking classic design cues from Carroll Shelby himself as well as time- and race-tested components from the Grand-Am Cup Series, the GT500 will combine classic beauty, modern technology, and near-futuristic efficiency in one car. Oh yeah...and it's going to be rated at 500 horsepower.
The 2007 Ford Mustang looks great on the outside and offers great convenience on the inside. A new DVD navigation system is available, and Mustangs offer such performance options as a larger air intake and a lower ride.
If you live in California, you're in luck: go to a dealer and check out the popular 2007 California Special Mustang. Oh wait...no...that was the 1968 California Special model that was available only in the westernmost state. In 2007, the California Special is available throughout the country.

I stand by these mustangs to the end. They are tough, they look cool and they have so much horsepower. With a little fine tuning you can get these cars to perform and they are virtually indestructible. Great car that I would recommend.Oct 07, 2014

when i first got my v6 it was quick for factory but with a few inexpensive add ons it made a world of diffrence it looks great just how i want it to and just how a mustang should i always have fun when i drive it. it gets pretty good gas mileage about 30 hwy and 19 city. I have yet to have any mechanical problems with it any problems that i could claim under the warrenty i did i figured most of the problems came from when it was a rental car. Nov 09, 2010

performace and is extremely upgradable. I don't think there is a part on
this car that you can't get upgraded. It's cheap at first until you upgrade

Performance is awesome--accelerates incredibly fast, handles like on rails after aftermarket springs were added... Braking is a bit iffy because it nosedives (lots of weight up front with the engine).
Build quality is excellent--3.5 years in and no rattles or shakes or broken anythings.
Appearance speaks for itself--this car is a head-turner.
Cost of Ownership is what you expect from a muscle car--but it's still much better than many others since it's a domestic... main thing to pay hefty money for is gas.
Fun factor--definitely funnest Mustang I've ever driven (nope, haven't gotten a chance to drive a GT500 yet).Aug 27, 2010

It's a 2007 ford mustang gt, black on black, automatic, 4.6 litter engine with a 93
octane K&N hard shift tune and K&N cold air intake from JPC Racing. She runs 13.5
in a 1/4 miles. She handles great in all situations but winter weather! This car is one
of the sexiest cars ever in my book and of course with this car you will attract a lot
of things including the police but besides all that this is a great car to have whether

Had a 71 Mach 1 that was stolen in the 80's always said I wouldown another reall Mustang then had a 81 Mustang gt 82 Mercury Capri and a 92 GT convertable al were good cars but still nothing like my 71, untill now. I still love Pre 74 Mustangs the best nothing is better than the old school look, but the ride of my 07 is better than any of the others I have owned.Apr 09, 2010

Ford finally got the Mustang back to what it was with power and style. Stock it is good with a little help it is even faster louder and more fun to drive. At car shows it looks good next to the 60's body style and demands attention. I will say it is still as great as the old 60's, but as close as you can get!Dec 19, 2009

This car is a blast to drive. For a v6, it get's a surprising amount of hp at around 220. It gets great gas mileage, and not much maintenance is required. The build quality isn't as good on this one. Some stuff has fallen off of the doors (rubber stops, plastic parts,etc), but other than that it's a great car.Nov 01, 2009

* Performance - torquey but not fast, soft breaks, good handling considering the simple suspension setup.
* Build Quality - has been very reliable, just needed a rattle fixed early on, but it was an easy fix
* Appearance - exterior looks amazing, interior is okay
* Cost of Ownership - great price for a RWD car, not-so-great gas mileage, low insurance cost, cheap parts.
* Fun Factor - despite it's low powered engine and outdated suspension setup, a few cheap mods make this a very fun car to drive.Aug 07, 2009

It is an amazing resurrection of the original Mustang in a new functional package. Overall the car is wonderful. It performs well, incredibly reliable, and turns heads. Although owning a six-cylinder is discouraging, it is fairly quick and will definitely get you where you need to go fast and in-style.Jul 13, 2009

Performance- Engine has lots of power, really comes alive above 4000 revs. Handling is pretty good.
Quality- Pretty good quality, some interior pieces could be better but overall good.
Appearance- Fantastic, beautiful inside and out.
Cost of Ownership- Gas cost is high if you push it hard but otherwise is not too bad. Insurance is not too high either

I absolutely love my car! It's not an overly speedy car, but it is lots of fun to drive and with the handling package it handles like a dream. I still have some plans, dual exhaust, rear window louver, GT front end and rear end, but right now I'm trying to build a chopper! This car gets a lot of looks, and people are always coming up to me and telling me that they love it, people even honk at me at intersections and wave! They probably think it's a Shelby! It's not great on gas, and it's not a rocket ship, but it is a lot of fun to drive, and it really gets the looks! This is the nicest car I've ever owned!Jan 17, 2009

I love it. My mustang runs great, looks great, and is easy handling if you know how to drive a manual. My mustang doesn't cost any more than any other ford. I love to cruise around in it! For the money the mustang gt is well worth it, go with the manual transmission, you feel all 300 horses as compared to the auto, there is a huge difference, i love the car and it really stands out on the street i got the double optional shaker 1000 audio system in it and it bumps personally i like this car over many others that cost much more, the list price on mine was 32,850$ and worth every penny...Apr 22, 2008

I only got to drive this car twice, but it left an impression. The roar of the 300hp V8 made your right foot feel like lead. Accel was verrryy smooth, handled very well at cruising speeds. Interior was superb, this one had all the options, including the eardrum-shattering shaker 1000 sound system. Its also offered at a very reasonable price. This will be my next car.Apr 22, 2008

Having owned an 02 GT Mustang, the differences between the cars are like night and day. The build quality and overall feel improved dramatically in the 05-on mustangs, something that can't be said about the previous years.
One of my favorite things is the interior. Ford did a great job bringing the 1960's Mustang theme into a modern interpretation, everything from the steering wheel, speedometer, A/C vents, even the Airbag labels look like it belongs in 60's era Mustang. There are some areas that feel somewhat cheap, but for the price, it is appropriate, and, in my humble opinion, necessary for the experience. Mustang has always been a car for the people. Rich or poor, there is no class that can't drive a Mustang, it is classless, which is one of the things that attracted me to the Mustang hobby.
Now, for the piece de resistance, the underhood feature. The 4.6 liter V8 really screams for joy. It has a healthy dose of power, and is quite smooth in its delivery. the five speed auto hooked up does a pretty good job of delivering the 300 ponies( pardon the pun) to the rear wheels.
The outside appearance is also something Ford did an outstanding job on. The bulky, broad shouldered, muscular look, with the long hood and the short deck really stand out. On my particular model, the GT/CS (California Special), has the Eighteen Inch polished Almuminum Wheels, which look magnifecent.
Would recomend the car if your not a pansy when it comes to power, rain, and snow, and practicality is not a top priority. Apr 08, 2008

WOW! What a CAR!
I retired form the Navy in 2004. Both my kids now serve in the Navy.I am very proud. After my last one left this summer, I got rid of the kid-hauling SUV via a trade in on the '07 GT flip top. What a car. It only took 6 days to get my fist ticket. I drive a very fast motorcycle in addition to the GT and the ticket was a surprise, but I deserved it.
I have put almost 20k miles on it in about 5 months. I just can't stop driving it. It is too much fun.
I have never had a head turning car like this. No less than 10 or 15 people have made comments at stop lights, gas stations, etc. "dream Car," "Love the new Mustangs!"
I have found minor defects, such as not being able to fill the gas tank completely at some stations especially when it's at less than a quarter tank. I have heard of this before and it has to do with with a bend in the filler tube. It's under warranty I'll just take it in.Dec 30, 2007

This is a great car to buy. It is cheap for a sports car, and has plenty of punch. When you think Ford you think Mustang or F-150 and as a result they make sure to create a great reliable car. I drove around a 1999 ford mustang for a couple of years when I was younger and didn’t exactly treat it very well. I was young and still learning what you need to do to take care of a car and I basically drove the piss out of that car and didn’t take very good car of it. But for 3 years it never once gave me a problem and the 2007 is looking to be the same, however I do take care of this car. It is my dream car and I couldn’t ask for a better car.Dec 25, 2007

After 31 years (since I was 5) I finally got a Mustang GT. I was sad to give up my last car, but it only took me 10 minutes to completely fall in love with the Mustang.
